v0.9.4 — July 24, 2026

Release notes for Meko v0.9.4 — knowledge-base upload overhaul, federated settings, and MCP server 2.0.0.

This page covers the Meko portal, API, and platform. For Installer, MCP server, and agent skills updates, see the Installer release notes.

New features

Portal

  • HTML knowledge-base uploads — Add supported HTML files alongside existing document formats.
  • Knowledge-base upload overhaul — Batching, a retry queue, upload cache, and clearer validation and limit messaging for knowledge-base file uploads.

Improvements

Authentication and account settings

  • Federated account settings — Users who sign in through Google or LinkedIn no longer see an irrelevant password-update action. The setting is gated by an identity-provider check in the API and hidden in Settings.

Fixed

Integrations

  • Codex installer hooks — Hook scripts copy to a stable directory, SessionStart emits a valid JSON schema, and SessionEnd capture detaches so it returns within Codex's deadline.
  • Persistent MCP capture rejections — Server-side rejections that were previously swallowed are now visible to the caller.
  • Datapack role display — Datapack describe shows the caller's real grant instead of a hardcoded Owner value.

Changes

MCP tooling

  • Meko MCP Server 2.0.0 — New installer and skills, implicit memory extraction, datapack-aware capture, and a cleaned-up default tool surface. See installer v2.0.0 for the full notes.
  • scope attribute removed from MCP tools — Authorization remains enforced by authenticated identity and datapack grants; a temporary compatibility shim still accepts legacy callers.
  • conversation_list resolves datapacks by id — Prefer datapack_id over name.
  • flush_pending_memory_candidates removed — Automatic extraction replaces the deprecated flush path.
  • Behavioral guidance moved into skills — Tool descriptions focus on function and inputs; workflow doctrine lives in the versioned skills.
